Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive at Entebbe and transfer to your hotel

On arrival, you will be met by our customer care representative and your guide who will transfer you to your hotel. At the hotel you will be assisted to check in and thereafter, you will be given a thorough briefing about your safari. Overnight at your hotel.

 

Day 2 Drive to Murchison Falls via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Our guide will pick you up at your hotel and after a small safari briefing, you will be driven to Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way, you will make a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where rhinos are being reintroduced to the wild in Uganda so that you have a complete feel of the African Big Five mammals as it is the Rhinos, out of the Big Five that are missing in Murchison Falls National Park. You can opt to have lunch before or after tracking the Rhinos. After you continue with your trip to Murchison Falls, time permitting, you will have an evening game-viewing drive in the park culminating in your lodge for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 3 Game drive and boat cruise in the Nile

You will wake up very early and set off at sunrise game drive in the Nyamsika plateau to see the Cape buffaloes, Rothschild’s giraffes, Uganda kob, hartebeest and waterbucks. You may also spot oribi, bushbuck, Bohor reedbuck, shy sitatunga, bush duiker, warthog plus other large carnivores including lions, leopards and spotted hyenas.

Chimpanzees and olive baboons head the list of six species of primates found in the park. Crocodiles and hippos will be seen along the banks of the Nile. Some of the more common birds that can be seen include goliath heron, Egyptian geese, pelican, bee-eaters, kingfishers, hornbill, cormorant, saddle-bill storks and the rare shoebill stork. You will return to your lodge for a late breakfast and some relaxation before you set off in the afternoon for a boat cruise on the placid Victoria Nile, upstream, to the base of the falls. En route, you will see hippos, crocodiles, water buck and a wide variety of birds like the unusual shoebill stork.

 

Day 4 Drive to the Home of Chimpanzee

After a healthy breakfast, you will be transferred to Kibale Forest National Park, the capital world of Primates such as chimpanzee, baboons and monkeys. Upon arrival, you will check in at your lodge for dinner and a peaceful rest at your lodge as you get prepared for the next day’s wildlife adventure in the tranquil forest.

 

Day 5 Rendez-vous with chimpanzee and transfer to Queen Elizabeth N Park

After breakfast, you will go for chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest National Park, where the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa is exceptionally represented. The most famous of its 13 species is the Chimpanzee known to be a delightful ape. Chimpanzee tracking is a fulfilling adventure that takes you deep into tropical forests with streams of water and abundant wildlife. You will start with a briefing from the ranger guide about your chimp trek. On your trek, you might have sightings of red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white Columbus monkeys, butterflies, and birds calling from the canopies. With the help of your ranger guide, you will locate the chimps. Enjoy picture moments and watch them as they play, groom, and feed. After this amazing experience, you will head back to your lodge for lunch. After lunch head to Queen Elizabeth National Park for an afternoon game-viewing drive culminating in your lodge for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 6 Boat Cruise in Kazinga Channel and drive to the home of Gorillas

After breakfast, you will head to Kazinga Channel for about cruise. Kazinga Channel is a 42kms channel that joins Lake Edward and Lake George. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of hippos. It offers and excellent opportunity for photography, bird watching and game viewing. The prolific bird life is colorful with well over 550 resident species. After the amazing boat cruise, head to the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth for lunch and a game-viewing drive before continuing to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

 

Day 7 Encounter the Mountain Gorillas and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

You will have an early morning breakfast at 7:00 am and with packed Lunch you will move to the park headquarters to join other trackers in a briefing about the gorilla trekking rules at 7:30 am. You will trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the Gorillas, which can take you 1-8 hours. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access by tourists. You will stay with Gorillas sometime once sited and later you will be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi.

 

Day 8 Departure

After breakfast, you will be transferred back to Entebbe for your outbound flight back home or to your next destination via the Equator for lunch and for pictures in the northern and southern hemispheres.
