Itinerary

Day 1Dar es Salaam - Mikumi National Park

Pick up from the agreed point in Dar es Salaam at 6 am and travel 283 km to Mikumi National Park with lunch at Morogoro restaurant in Morogoro. After lunch, proceed with a drive to the Park for an evening game drive in the Park. This is a home to elephants, lions, Wild dogs, Zebras, hyenas, Buffalo, Wildebeest, Eland, Heartbeet, crocodiles, lizards, and other residents. Over 300 species of birds have been observed in this park.

Day 2Full day in Mikumi Park and a Visit to the Maasai

The morning after breakfast, with a packed lunch full day of games drive in the park. Mikumi’s vegetation includes woodland, swamp, and grassland with two water holes, Mkata and Chamgore. Apart from the saddle-bill stork, hammer kop, and malachite kingfisher, you will also find a monitor lizard and perhaps a python inhabiting the pools. After lunch proceed with afternoon game drives in the park home to elephants, lions, Wild dogs, Zebras, Hyena, Buffalo, Wildebeest, Eland, Hartebeest, crocodiles, lizards, and other residents. Evening leave the park and drive to the Maasai family to join them for the daily morning life activity. There you will see how the cattle come from grazing and how Maasai women milk, dance and get a history of this one old tribe in Africa.

Day 3Mikumi National Park - Udzungwa Mountains

Early morning 6 am game drive at Mikumi National Park. Back to the camp for a hot breakfast and to collect picnic lunch boxes. Check out and drive 2 hours to the Udzungwa Mountains, where you will start your trekking to Sanje Water Falls. Ramble through the dense rainforest with picnic lunch packs. Udzungwa Mountains Park is one of thirty-four biodiversity hotspots and one of 200 WWF ecoregions and is of global critical importance. Its massive forest panoramas are a great draw for trekkers. Furthermore, the park is home to an important population of primates. Ten species, more than in any other Tanzanian Park. The Grey-Faced Sanje, Red Colobus monkey, Mangabey, Black and white Colobus Monkey, and many toxic and non-toxic trees. Swimming at Sanje Water Falls.

Day 4Udzungwa Mountain - Dar es Salaam

Breakfast at 7 am and check out. We drive 2 hrs via Mikumi National Park. A hot lunch will be served at Sebastian camp and later drive back to Dar es Salaam to the agreed drop-off point.
